Preliminary University Search & Shortlist

KES 50,000 per destination country

A focused research assignment to find universities and programmes that match your academic background and interests in one country.

  • Review of your qualifications, course interest and preferences
  • Research and shortlist of relevant universities and programmes
  • Summary of published entry requirements, with official university links

A search in another country is a separate assignment. This is research, not an admission, scholarship or visa service.

Start the search
Paid by the applicant, separately: visa, embassy and visa-centre fees, SEVIS, biometrics, medicals and TB tests, translations, language-test fees and retakes, university application fees, tuition deposits, insurance, flights and living costs. No admission, scholarship or visa can be guaranteed: universities and immigration authorities decide.
Country guide

Where you can study

What Kenyan applicants typically need for each destination. Your final checklist depends on the course, the institution, funding and your history.

United States

F-1 student visa
  • Admission to a school approved under SEVP, and the Form I-20
  • DS-160 application, photo and visa fee receipt
  • Proof you can pay tuition, living and travel costs
  • SEVIS I-901 fee, biometrics and a consular interview

The I-20 is key, but admission does not guarantee a visa. The consular officer may ask for more evidence.

US Department of State official guidance

United Kingdom

Student visa
  • A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed sponsor
  • Financial evidence for course fees and living costs
  • English-language evidence accepted for the course and visa
  • TB test certificate for stays over six months; ATAS if your course needs it

A CAS is not the same as an offer letter. The visa fee and Immigration Health Surcharge are paid separately.

GOV.UK official guidance

Canada

Study permit
  • Letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI)
  • Provincial or territorial attestation letter (PAL/TAL), unless exempt
  • Proof of funds for tuition, living and travel
  • A study plan; biometrics and medical if required

From 1 January 2026, master's and doctoral students at public institutions are exempt from the PAL/TAL. Quebec has its own requirements.

IRCC Canada official guidance

Australia

Student visa (subclass 500)
  • A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for a CRICOS-registered course
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Evidence for the Genuine Student requirement
  • Financial, health and character evidence when requested

The CoE must stay valid until the visa decision. Financial evidence can be requested even if not in the first checklist.

Australian Home Affairs official guidance

New Zealand

Fee Paying Student Visa
  • Offer of place from an approved education provider
  • Evidence tuition is paid, payable or covered by a scholarship
  • Funds for living costs and their genuine source
  • Insurance; medical, X-ray or police certificate if required

Apply at least three months before you travel. An unconditional offer may be needed before approval.

General checklist

Documents for Kenyan student applicants

A preparation checklist. Not every item is needed in every country or for every applicant. Start early.

A. Identity and personal records
  • Valid Kenyan passport, and copies of the bio-data page and any visas or entry stamps
  • National ID, birth certificate or other civil documents if requested
  • Passport photos meeting the destination's specifications
  • Previous visa refusals, immigration history and past travel, where relevant
B. Academic and admission records
  • Transcripts, certificates and degree documents for every relevant level of study
  • KCSE results for undergraduate entry; diploma or bachelor's documents for master's entry
  • CV, statement of purpose, references, and a portfolio or research proposal if the course asks
  • English-language test results, unless an exemption is accepted
  • The official offer, acceptance or enrolment document for the destination
C. Financial and sponsorship evidence
  • Evidence of funds for tuition, living costs and travel, in the form the authority accepts
  • If a parent or sponsor pays: sponsor letter, proof of relationship, their ID, financial documents and source of funds
  • Scholarship award, loan approval or official sponsorship letter, if any
  • Tuition deposit receipt, if already paid and required
D. Additional items that may be required
  • Medical examination, TB test or chest X-ray
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Biometrics at the designated centre
  • Certified copies, notarisation, authentication or Ministry of Foreign Affairs processing, only where required
  • Translations of any document not in the required language
  • A credible study plan: course choice, progression, career goals and funding
Don't legalise or translate every document automatically. Rules differ by country. We tell you exactly which format each document needs, so you don't spend time and money on processing nobody asked for.

From enquiry to application

How the process works

  1. 01Initial profile review

We review your academic history, intended course, career goals, intake, budget and country preferences.

  2. 02University search and shortlist

If you commission it, we research one selected country under the KES 50,000 preliminary search.

  3. 03Confirm the full-service scope

A written agreement confirms the country, programmes, institutions, number of applications, timelines and the KES 300,000 fee.

  4. 04School applications and admission

We coordinate the agreed applications and liaise on offer and enrolment documents. The university decides admission.

  5. 05Documents and authentication

We prepare the agreed file and handle included certification, notarisation and Ministry of Foreign Affairs liaison.

  6. 06Visa application oversight

We assemble the student visa documents and guide you through the required steps and appointments.

  7. 07You complete the external steps

You pay external fees, sit the language test, attend biometrics or medicals and review the application details.

  8. 08Decision and next steps

The immigration authority decides. We share updates and explain what comes next.

Your part

  • Provide accurate, genuine documents and tell us about any refusals or immigration history.
  • Meet university deadlines and respond promptly.
  • Pay visa, embassy, biometrics, medical, translation and test fees directly, and attend your appointments.
  • Review application details before submission and tell us about any change.
